Emily Forscher, PhD

Licensed Psychologist

Affirmation, collaboration, social justice, and cultural respect form the foundation of Dr. Emily Forscher’s work with every client.  She believes that therapy is not just for addressing problems and suffering, but also an opportunity to identify and work towards meaningful goals.  Emily uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical-behavioral (DBT), and acceptance and commitment (ACT) techniques to assist adults who struggle with mood, anxiety, and other concerns.  She also specializes in evidence-based treatment for insomnia.

Emily is especially dedicated to working with adults who identify as LGBTQ (or who are interested in exploring their identities).  Emily earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on sleep problems in depression.  She obtained specialized training in LGBTQ Health at Northwestern University and in Primary Care Psychology at Access Community Health Centers.
